1st XI
Captain:  Fiona Liard

Vice-Captain:  Alison Kent

Over the past few seasons the 1st XI has continued to evolve and we've worked hard to maintain a firm position in our BUCS league, where we finished tantalisingly short of promotion at the close of the 08/09 season. Despite the loss of a number of players last season, we remain a very capable team and are very excited to welcome incoming team members both in the brand spanking new fresher intake, as well as upward movement of players from the 2nd team. The highlight of the season will always be Varsity and this year we WILL be victorious!

When not donning shin pads and dashing skorts, the 1st XI, as with all of the hockey teams, love their social and have a penchant for silly fancy dress and bring your own curries! Although we love to get stuck into our club nights and imbibe as a big group, we do enjoy a good evening of impromptu 1st team anarchy! Some of the highlights of the last few years involve our epic 10-hour stint in the GKT bar, our hobo circle (the mess of which the SU will never forgive us for!) and our pre-season weekend in Newbury where we met some interesting new characters, the most eccentric and memorable of which has to be Mercedes.

Having been an active member of the hockey club and 1st team for the last 4 years I relish the opportunity to lead our team into what promises to be a very fun and exciting season both on and off the pitch!

2nd XI
Captain:  Rachel Panniker

Vice-Captain:  Charlotte Lees

Our ICSM Ladies' 2nd Hockey team is a fun-loving squad of girls - we all enjoy playing our hockey but the socialising is taken just as seriously! We're not pros but do fairly well - in the 2009-10 season, we're competing in the BUCS SE League 5A and ULU Division 3. Of course, we're trying our best to win as many matches as possible, but having a laugh along the way is always our priority.

Our team has a strong ethos of fun both on and off the pitch, so whether we win or lose, you can count on us all having a great time post-match at our fave hangout - drinks at the Reynolds. Or, when we feel like splashing out, team meals and nights out into the big wide world of London are fab ways of reconsolidating that all important team-spirit!

I've loved being a member of the 2nd team over the past few years and am very excited to be captain this year. So whether you're already an established member or a newbee to our hockey club, I look forward to playing with you this year.

3rd XI
Captain:  Theresa Wright

Vice-Captain:  Rajvi Shah

Welcome to ICSM Women's Hockey Club! The 3rd team is a fantastic group of girls who like to play a bit of hockey and have a great time off the pitch as well.

No experience is needed-I, myself, held a hockey stick for the first time last year and we have lots of new players in the team. The team is open to everybody whether you're a Fresher or in any other year.

There's a great social side to the team as well, with something for everybody. Along with weekly circles at the Reynolds on Wednesdays, we also have team meals, booze bowling and the infamous SingStar (karaoke)!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Hockey Club. As a new member last year I was made to feel really welcome. If you would like to join then come along to training one week or please feel free to give me a text or call on: 07584055247

I hope to see you this year!

Saturday XI
Captain:  Fiona Laird

Vice-Captain:  Alison Kent

An absolutely amazing addition to the club, joining the Middlesex Ladies League has given us hockey lovers something to do at the weekend. Since joining in the 2006-07 season we have been unstoppably promoted three times and are now playing in Division 1. The Saturday side is composed of players from all teams in the club, and is a chance to learn hockey from others, as well as playing against different types of teams, from the old to the very very young children of Teddington!

Playing in our Saturday league has enabled us to integrate more as a club and to improve and progress both as individual players and as a team, and it's given us an additional night to go out and celebrate! It is also a fantastic opportunity to catch up with our old docs who come back and play occasionally.

Going up a league provides us with a great challenge for the upcoming season. With our new coach, we shall be working hard to have a team that does not have to be perfectly consistent every week, yet can still succeed. Let's hope we have as much success this season as we've had in the past.
